Day 4 in Shell - Dinosaur Tracks & the Heat - July 23rd

We started our day in a different manner today as we joined up with one of our hosts named Merle and we visited a dinosaur track site at 7:00 a.m.  The early morning shadows on the tracks made them easier to see.  They're estimated to be 167 million years old!  We then ate breakfast together in Greybull before eventually making it to the jobsite at 9:30.

Half the crew remained indoors today to finish up the sheetrock job while the other half worked outside on the north side of the addition - in the shade.  One of the local thermometers read 102 degrees while the Greybull radio station recorded 98.  We kept up on the water supply and did OK in the heat.  Tomorrow we hope to have almost everyone on the siding job, but we still don't expect to finish it before we leave on Saturday.

Tonight's dinner visit to the home of Jerry and Kathy Ewen was special.  They met in high school and they married a few years later before he went to serve in Vietnam.  They've been married 42 years now and they were very kind to share several family stories with the five of us.  What a blessing it has been to build relationships here in Shell.  We've never had a WPC mission trip that included a full week of home stays.  This has been a valuable component of this trip.
