At the beginning of Jesus' earthly ministry he called disciples to his side, by saying, "Come and see."
At the end of his earthly ministry, Jesus said to his disciples, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…" The work of the Mission and Evangelism Committee at Westminster is guided by these two statements. We help the congregation fulfill the Great Commission by helping them to "go" and we invite the larger community of Anacortes to examine the person of Jesus by saying, "come and see."

The Mission & Evangelism Committee is responsible for leadership in the planning and implementing of many different facets of "sharing Christ's love in service to others." To that end, we offer many different outreach opportunities. We offer at least one yearly mission trip to serve others both near and far. We support many local Anacortes benevolent agencies-recognizing that many of these organizations are best equipped to offer direct aid to those in need. In 2007 we began advocating on behalf of those who are imprisoned or persecuted for their practice of the Christian faith by sending monthly letters of appeal to governments around the world.

Each year, Westminster adopts a missionary with whom we can learn from, pray for, and support financially. This way we expand our horizons for how and where God is at work in the world.
