PASTOR

Stephanie grew up on the east coast, but has transitioned to life on the left coast since her move to serve as Pastor at WPC in 1996, after graduating from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. She’s married to Chris, a forester, and they have two mostly-grown children. Preaching and teaching are two of Stephanie’s most appreciated ministry gifts. She treasures the long relationship she’s had at WPC and values the changes she and the congregation have made over that time. She enjoys cooking for others and served as Mission Volunteer at a soup kitchen in Alaska for a year.

DIRECTOR OF FAMILY MINISTRIES

Sarah VanderVort moved to Anacortes and became the Director of Family Ministry in the Fall of 2018. She lives here with husband, two sons, her nephew on weekends, and her two cats and very old miniature poodle. Sarah has a degree in education for grades K-8th and is also a certified life coach, educator of Dr. John Gottman’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective Marriages, and trained Leader for Healing Journey from His Healing Light Ministries. Sarah is also the Co-Leader for Stephen Ministries here at WPC. Sarah is passionate about strengthening families, building connection and relationships with all of God’s children, walking alongside youth, justice and inclusion, and healing ministries. Her prayer is that everyone feels a sense of true belonging at WPC and God’s love in action.

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC, WORSHIP AND THE ARTS

Gillian has been a Music & Worship director for 16 years and loves bringing a variety of musical styles into worship. Classically trained in vocal performance she enjoys hosting a concert series each year involving local and not-so-local artists. She is married to Drew Virgin, our Tech director. In her free time she enjoys skiing, running, hiking, paddle boarding, and pretty much all things outdoors. Her indoor hobbies are Harry Potter lego sets, baking, and cooking. She grew up in Michigan and is a lifelong Hockey fan. Since she and Drew refuse to root for each other's team (Gillian - The Red Wings, Drew - the Dallas Stars) the Seattle Kraken created a perfect compromise and they attend games regularly.

OFFICE MANAGER

Anne is the Office Manager at WPC. She takes care of all things office related. Need something? She’s your gal! She is married to Bill and they have a daughter, Charlotte. As a Phoenix native, she could not be happier to live in this beautiful, green, vibrant, and welcoming city. She is an avid fan of all things Star Wars and Disneyland related. Her favorite movie is “While You Were Sleeping.” Stop by and say hi!

SEXTON

As our groundskeeper and building manager Eric works hard with our facilities committe and volunteers to keep our gardens well tended and our building maintained. He is retired from the City of Anacortes and enjoys working as a handy-man in his free time. He is married to Silja and has two daughters who grew up in Westminster.

TECH DIRECTOR

Drew is in charge of all things tech related. A recent transplant to Anacortes, he is enjoying the weather. Picture coming soon.

BOOKKEEPER

Hi! My name is Clara Morris. I am the new bookkeeper here at WPC. I spent my childhood in Montana but have lived in the Skagit Valley for more than 30 years. Currently I live with my beloved Golden Retriever, Rusty. I have 2 grown children and am “CiCi” to 3 grandchildren. I also work for Providence Home Health of Snohomish County.
